This week is National Emergency Medical Services Week! In 1974, President Gerald Ford authorized EMS Week to celebrate EMS practitioners and the important work they do in our nation's communities. This week serves to bring together local communities and medical personnel to honor the dedication of those who lifesaving services of medicine's "front line" on an everyday basis. However, because of the impact of COVID-19 is having on many EMS services across the nation, it is unlikely that they will be able to celebrate and participate in EMS Week, so be sure to reach out and thank any EMS professional in your life.
